The best Soft Machine lineup without any ifs or buts, with Wyatt on drums and unfortunately little on vocals: even if he wasn’t as technical as Marshall, he was completely different inventive and with more improvisational flashes… and I prefer this style to virtuosity that is sometimes an end in itself. In any case, at least up to Seven, the subsequent lineups are also appreciable.
