In 2014 I asked dutch/canadian painter Willem Grift if he could make a painting based upon two songs: ‘Coming back to life’ of David Gilmour/Pink Floyd, and ‘Dark Star’ of Grateful Dead. The result is hanging in our living room and is beautiful. The video below doesn’t do right to the depth, colors and beauty of the painting but combined with the music it might give you a good impression…
Just bought on the local eBay market (Marktplaats). A bunch of original Grateful articles from the eighties and nineties. All from the UK magazine ‘Record Collector’. Lots of info to add to the record reviews on this site. So expect more to come….

‘When the concert is finished were done with it’ and that’s one of the reasons the band didn’t mind the live-recordings by its audience. And that makes the Grateful Dead one of the best documentated band in history. For me the favoriete songs change with age.
For example ‘Stella Blue’. It took me years to learn to appreciate the song. Now it is with ‘China Doll’ one of my most liked Grateful Dead songs. Goose bumps every time again! This is what Jerry Garcia said about the song:
