These recordings of the QMS at the Avalon in September and October of 1966 are the earliest existing recordings of one of the original architects of acid rock. Here QMS is a five-piece featuring original vocalist Jim Murray, who quit the band shortly before their long-awaited debut was recorded for Capitol in 1968. Highlights include “Pride Of Man” (which would eventually find its way onto their debut album), “Mona” (which would show up again on their classic LP Happy Trails), and (in keeping with their reputation for being a great jam band) a 20-minute version of Willie Dixon’s “Hoochie Coochie Man”. Recorded live at the Avalon Ballroom in San Francisco on September 9 and October 28, 1966.

Vinyl and Cover in very fine condition, still factory sealed.
