Rock N’ Roll Comics No. 45 – Grateful Dead (Revolution Comics, 3481 Fourth St., San Diego, CA 92103) the first of three comics of an ‘unauthorized’ history of the Grateful Dead. The drawings are black and white, and at the top of each page are quotes from the Dead’s songs. Published in March, 1992. These are ‘unauthorized’ in the sense that the publisher released these without the Dead’s approval, claiming that the Grateful Dead were public figures, and as such, approval was not needed to write about them.
